A Good Run: Finding Peace with Parkinson's

  • Hopkins School 986 Forest Road New Haven, CT, 06515 United States (map)

Over the past decade, Etana has witnessed her mother’s battle with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), a chronic and progressive neurological disorder that affects the body’s ability to move and function. Diagnosed at the age of 58, Kathleen’s diagnosis reversed the roles between mother and daughter much earlier than expected. The cinematic piece focuses on the subtleties that make a relationship between mother and daughter soft, yet impenetrable. The film shares their journey through heartfelt interviews, childhood moments and reflection. By capturing the realities of love and loss, the piece provides viewers with the opportunity to see how even the deepest pain can be turned into something positive.
